"(Charlotte) is a town with multiple attractions: close enough to Burlington for an easy commute; possessor of a strong community spirit, reflected in excellent schools, a new town hall, and a handsome gathering place, the Old Brick Store; home to a broad range of artists, farmers, gardeners, sailors, and professionals."

The Preserve's sweeping vistas include miles and miles of Lake Champlain with the Adirondacks beyond.
Long-time residents and first-time visitors agree that the rural, protected nature of the landscape and the astonishing beauty of the lake contribute equally to Charlotte's appeal.

For years visitors have enjoyed the area now preserved as the Charlotte Park and Wildlife Refuge, consisting of hundreds of acres of orchards, meadows, woodlands, and wetlands.

The refuge provides an excellent habitat for a variety of wildlife, and a system of trails allows visitors to enjoy the tremendous views.
